Men's Soccer Loses at UNC Greensboro

Greensboro, N.C. (Oct. 27) - In its first game in the Big Four Tournament, the NC State men's soccer team fell to the host UNC Greensboro Spartans 6-0 on Oct. 27. Earlier in the day, Duke defeated UNC Charlotte 5-4, to start the annual Big Four Tournament held at UNCG's Soccer Stadium.
UNC Greensboro (12-5-1) got on the scoreboard after Justin Wisdo connected on a penalty kick in the 28th minute. The Spartans would go on to add two more goals in the next ten minutes, to take a 3-0 lead into halftime.
The Spartans continued their attack on the Pack goal in the second half, as UNCG added three more goals to make the final score 6-0. Both Chris Goos and Mike Dunaway notched two goals on the day for UNC Greensboro.
The Spartans held the advantage in shots by a 25-10 margin.
The Pack's Mitchell Watson finished with eight saves, while UNCG's Joe Crump recorded three.
The Wolfpack will return to action on Oct. 29 when NC State faces UNC Charlotte to conclude action at the Big Four Tournament at 1:00 p.m.
