Rivers from Athens, Alabama, guided the Wolfpack to a 38-20 win over North Carolina last Saturday in Chapel Hill. The win snapped a seven-game losing streak to the Heels.
Against a tough Tar Heel defense, Rivers completed 13-of-25 passes for 202 yards and a touchdown, marking the sixth straight time that Rivers has thrown for over 200 yards in a game, which ties a school record. Rivers got the Wolfpack on the board when he caught a 19-yard touchdown pass from Bryan Peterson on the Pack's first drive.
In the second quarter, Rivers hooked up with Peterson again, this time tossing a 10-yard pass to Peterson for a touchdown. Rivers and Peterson were the first players in school history to throw and catch a touchdown pass in the same game.
The #24 Pack is idle this week before taking on #6 Florida State on Saturday, October 28 at 7:00 p.m. at Carter-Finley Stadium.
