This week's rankings mark NC State's first appearance in the Top 25 since September 20 of last year.
Injury Report: Redshirt freshman cornerback J.J. Washington, who made four starts this season, will be out for the rest of the year after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee on Saturday. The man Washington replaced in the starting lineup, freshman James Walker, will likely return to his old spot when NC State hosts Florida State on October 28.
Wide receiver Koren Robinson underwent surgery to repair a sprained ligament in his left thumb on Sunday morning. He is expected to be ready for the FSU game. Reserve linebacker Roger Pollard was scheduled to undergo a similar procedure on October 16. Tailback Ray Robinson, who sprained his foot in the fourth quarter of Saturday's contest at UNC, is listed as probable for the next game.
