Men's Soccer Falls to Duke

The Blue Devils (8-4, 2-2 ACC) got on the scoreboard first, as senior Ali Curtis netted his 10th goal of the season. Curtis scored in the 24th minute, after a scramble in the NC State penalty box after a Duke corner kick. Duke went into the half with a 1-0 lead.
The second frame belonged to Duke, as the Blue Devils recorded a season high of six goals in a half. Scott Noble headed in a Nii-Amar Amamoo throw-in at the 51:37 mark to start the scoring. Freshman Danny Wymer scored his first collegiate goal after another scramble in the NC State box in the 67th minute.
Duke would then go on to score its next three goals in a span of five minutes, with Donald McIntosh, Wymer, and Demetrio Sanchez all netting goals. Jamal McClendon topped of the scoring as he used a Robert Antoniou assist in the 86th minute.
The Wolfpack (1-8-3, 0-5 ACC) finished the day with three shots on goal, all in the first half. Senior Nick Olivencia had the Pack's best attempt of the day, as his free kick sailed just over the crossbar in the early stages of the contest.
For the game, Duke's starters accounted for just three points (1 goal and 1 assist), while the bench scored five goals and added three assists.
NC State will next host UNC Wilmington this Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
