Sendek Makes Statement On Damon Thornton
10/11/2000 12:00:00 AM | Men's Basketball
Raleigh, N.C.- After meeting with Athletics Director Lee Fowler, NC State
men's basketball coach Herb Sendek has made the following statement
concerning the status of senior center Damon Thornton:
"I have decided that Damon will not participate in any basketball related activities for an indefinite period of time. This decision will best allow him to devote his full attention to this very important matter."
Thornton, a redshirt senior from Norfolk, Va., will need just two credit hours in the spring semester of 2001 to earn his degree in parks, recreation and tourism management. He is a three-year starter for the Wolfpack and currently ranks third in NC State history in career field goal percentage (.557). He has led the Wolfpack in rebounding each of his three seasons.
