Men's Soccer Falls To #7 Virginia

Charlottesville, Va. (Oct. 1) - The No. 7 Virginia Cavaliers used three goals within the first 22 minutes of the game, to defeat the NC State men's soccer team 6-1 on Oct. 1 at the University of Virginia. The loss drops the Wolfpack's record to 1-6-2 on the year, and 0-3 in the ACC.
Virginia (7-3, 3-0 ACC) got on the scoreboard early, as Marshall Leonard recorded an unassisted goal just 2:43 into the contest. Alecko Eskandarian got the eventual game-winning goal with a chip shot from five yards out in the 14th minute. Steve Totten added a penalty shot at the 22:19 mark to push Virginia's lead to 3-0.
The Pack's lone goal of the day came at the 26:47 mark. Lee Baldwin found teammate Matt Tabor with a crossing pass, as Tabor netted his second goal of the season. NC State did not have many opportunities on the Cavs goal, as NC State only registered five shots.
NC State will host Liberty on Oct. 4 at 3:30 p.m.
