Holt Has Big Day In Rams Loss
1/2/2000 12:00:00 AM | Football
The NFL's St. Louis Rams lost their final regular season game on Sunday, but
don't blame Torry Holt. The former NC State All-American hauled in five
passes for 122 yards and two touchdowns in the Rams' 38-31 loss to the
Philadelphia Eagles.
Despite the defeat, St. Louis (13-3) heads into post-season play as the number one seed in the NFC Playoffs.
Holt's big day included a pair of touchdown catches.
In the third quarter, the Gibsonville native capped off a six-play, 67-yard drive by grabbing a 15-yard scoring toss from Rams starting quarterback Kurt Warner. Warner, a refugee from the Arena Football League, joined Miami's Dan Marino as the only two quarterbacks in league history to throw as many 40 touchdown passes in a season.
Holt made it into the end zone a second time when he was on the receiving end of a 62-yard touchdown pass from backup signal caller Joe Germaine.
