In 1998: One of nine true or redshirt freshmen to play on the Wolfpack defense last season, he started the last nine contests ... Earned the starting nod at SAM linebacker for the Syracuse game ... The fifth-leading tackler on the 1998 squad with 74 stops ... Led the team in tackles in the win at Maryland, he tallied a season-high 11 tackles in that contest ... Led the team in fumbles caused with three ... A valuable member of the Wolfpack special teams, he was in for 113 special teams plays and earned 32 points ... Started on the punt and kickoff return teams, he had a key block on Lloyd Harrison's blocked field goal return for a touchdown versus Maryland.
Prep: Ranked the state's No. 16 prospect by SuperPrep magazine ... One of the top 25 players in the state of North Carolina by The Charlotte Observer ... Ranked the state's No. 15 prospect by the Fayetteville Observer-Times ... A three-year varsity starter for Coach Tom Frazier ... Finished his senior season with 1,043 yards and 147 tackles, including 34 behind the line of scrimmage ... Also made seven sacks and three interceptions ... Ran for 201 yards on 18 carries (an average of over 11 yards) and four touchdowns against Pamlico, three of those TDs came in the fourth quarter ...
