Wolfpack Men's Soccer Downs Elon 4-1

The Wolfpack (3-2-1, 0-1 ACC) got on the scoreboard first, as Shaker Asad used some fancy footwork and fired a shot 25 yards out that found the top corner of the net only 5:03 into the game.
The Fightin* Christians (2-4) came right back, as Devin McCarron took the rebound off of a save by State goalie Eric Handley, and headed in the equalizer at 13:57.
The Pack scored once more before halftime, as Tony Malcolm and Nick Olivencia worked a quick give-and-go which resulted in Malcolm*s second goal of the season at the 40:15 mark.
The scoring in the second half all went to the Wolfpack. Matt Tabor headed in a goal at 60:49 with assists from Jeremy Ballenger and Michael Karim. Karim then netted his own goal, an unassisted, chip shot in the 76th minute.
NC State totaled 23 shots on the day, while Elon finished with 11. Pack goalie Eric Handley got his second straight start, and recorded three saves. Elon goalie Scot Wahl was busy all game, as he ended with 13 saves.
NC State will be back in action this Saturday, as the Pack play host to defending conference champion Clemson at 1:00 p.m. at Method Road.
