Wilkins Earns ACC Rookie of the Week Honors

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK - Damien Wilkins, Fr., NC State

NC State's Damien Wilkins continued his strong early-season play in the Wolfpack's wins over No. 19 Purdue and Providence. Against the Boilermakers, Wilkins came up with a team-high 13 rebounds, helping offset the loss of Kenny Inge. He also had eight points and a team-best three assists and three blocked shots. In addition, it was his steal with 36 seconds left set up Justin Gainey's game-winning three-pointer. Against Providence, Wilkins recorded his first career double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. He had eight points during a 12-2 first-half run that gave NC State a 15-point lead. For the season, Wilkins is averaging 9.8 points and a team-high 7.6 rebounds.
