Pack Hoops Teams Are In A Class Of Their Own

As of December 14th, there were a total of 15 men's college basketball teams still unbeaten. On the women's side, 13 schools had unblemished records.
But out of those 28 schools, only one can boast that both its men's and women's programs are still perfect. That school is NC State. The Wolfpack men and women are a combined 14-0 this season.
The State women, who opened the season as the nation's 20th ranked team, have made a monumental jump up to 4th in the AP Poll after ripping off eight consecutive victories. If coach Kay Yow's club manages to defeat Miami and new Hampshire in its next two games, it will equal the best start in the program's history. NC State opened the 1990-91 campaign with ten straight victories, and then repeated that feat in 1997-98.
At 6-0, the Wolfpack men are off to the best start of the Herb Sendek era. This also marks the first time that NC State has been perfect through six games since the 1995-96 season. A win over Liberty on Friday night would give NC State a 7-0 mark for the first time since 1981-82.
