Thanks to a 324 yard passing performance against Maryland on Saturday, NC State's Jamie Barnette is now within reach of Ben Bennett's All-time ACC career passing record.
With two games left, Barnette trails the former Duke signal caller by 633 yards, meaning he'll need to average just over 316 yards in the last two games against North Carolina and East Carolina to set a new standard for ACC quarterbacks.
The Roxboro senior only needs 50-yards passing to move past Duke's Spence Fischer into second place on the all-time list.
In the Pack's 30-17 victory over Maryland on Saturday, Barnette became the ACC's all time leader in career touchdown passes when he hit receiver Chris Coleman with a first quarter scoring toss. Barnette now has 59 career TD passes. Also on Saturday, he moved past Bennett into fourth place all-time with 9,120 career yards of total offense.
Meanwhile, NC State's Koren Robinson joined some rather exclusive company when he made seven grabs for 119 yards last Saturday. The redshirt freshman wide receiver now has four consecutive 100-yard receiving games to his credit. The only other Wolfpack wide receiver to pull off such a feat was All-American Torry Holt, who strung together five straight 100-yard games last season. Robinson now has a total of five 100-yard receiving games this year.
By rushing for 153 yards on Saturday, tailback Ray Robinson recorded the fourth 100-yard rushing game of his career. In the previous six games, the reigning ACC Rookie of the Year had carried the ball only 21 times for 26 yards.
