The Wolfpack (7-5-3, 1-3-1 ACC) ended its 1999 home schedule with one last victory at Method Road. After playing through a scoreless first half, State's Jeremy Ballenger headed in a Shaker Asad corner kick at the 60:25 mark to give the Pack the only offense on the day. Ballenger scored the first goal at Method Road this season against Charleston Southern back in September, and the last one today.
Freshman keeper Mitchell Watson picked up the shutout, as he made six saves on the day. For the season, Watson now has 3.5 shutouts to his credit.
NC State has now defeated ECU (3-10-1) 18 straight games dating back to 1975, and the Wolfpack hold an overall record of 24-1-2 against the Pirates all-time.
