NC State Defeats South Carolina in Swimming

Wolfpack Men Win 150-75, Women Prevail 140-86
RALEIGH, N.C. (November 10) -- The NC State men's swimming team remained undefeatedWednesday afternoon with a 150-75 win over South Carolina at the CaseyAcquatic Center. The Wolfpack women's team made it a sweep for NC Stateby downing the Gamecocks 140-86.
With the win, the NC State men improved to 5-0 on the season, while thewomen improved to 4-2. South Carolina's men and women both dropped to1-2.
For the NC State men, which won nine of 13 events, Jarod Proto, BradenHolloway, Matt Brado and Greg Solt all were multiple-event winners. Protowon the 100 breaststroke in a time of 57.64, Holloway took the 100backstroke in 50.26, Brado won the 200 freestyle in 1:41.74, and Solt wonthe 50 free in 20.81. Proto, Holloway, Brado and Solt also were relaywinners.
The NC State women won eight of 13 events, led by Katie Sheridan, whowon the 200 freestyle in 1:53.4 and the 100 backstroke in 59.01. NatalieJones won the 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:07.68. Dawn DeLuca won the100 butterfly in a time of 58.81. Jones and DeLuca were double-eventwinners by virtue of participating on winning relay teams.
