Men's Soccer Falls to Wake Forest, 4-0

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (Oct. 9) -- The seventh-ranked Wake Forest men's soccer team defeated the North Carolina State at Spry Stadium.
Ben Stafford scored one of the quickest goals in Wake Forest history, putting Wake up 1-0 just 16 seconds into the game. Stafford scored again on a penalty kick at the 12:09 mark in the game. Chad Evans increased the Wake Forest lead to 3-0 early in the second half on a goal off an assist from Chris Lonteen off a Wake Forest corner kick. Adam Hakes scored the final goal of the night at the 79:13 mark to make the final score 4-0.
With the win, Wake Forest improves to 8-0-3 overall and 1-0-1 in the ACC. N.C. State drops to 5-3-2 overall and 1-2-1 in ACC play.
Wake Forest will return to action when it hosts the second-ranked Duke Blue Devils Wednesday, Oct. 13. Gametime is set for 7 p.m. at Spry Stadium.
