RALEIGH, N.C. (Oct. 8) - Dick Vitale's College Basketball magazine has hit the newstands and several NC State players are among the publications honorees in various categories. Junior Kenny Inge was the most-mentioned, earning nods as one of the nation's "Best Dunkers" and as a member of Vitale's "Rolls-Royce Rankings" for power forwards.
Inge, a 6-8 forward from Virginia Beach, Va., was the fifth member of Vitale's "All-Dipsey Doo Dunkeroos" team. Inge tallied 47 dunks during the 1999 season, including seven slams in the Pack's 75-69 win over Georgia Tech on Jan. 2. Over 40 percent of Inge's field goals last season were dunks.
