Men's Soccer Falls To Tar Heels, 3-0

Raleigh, N.C. (Oct. 24) - The NC State men's soccer team was defeated by the North Carolina Tar Heels 3-0 at the Method Road soccer complex in front of 1,225. UNC improves its record to 10-4 overall and 2-3 in the ACC, while the Wolfpack fall to 5-4-3 overall and 1-3-1 in conference play.
North Carolina's Caleb Norkus proved to be the offensive weapon for UNC, as he collected two goals on the day. After a scoreless first half, Norkus found the back of the Wolfpack net at the 51:40 mark when he headed in a cross from Noz Yamauchi.
Norkus put away his second goal of the day in the 63rd minute with an unassisted goal. Only 1:06 after Norkus' second goal, the Tar Heels Michael Bucy added an insurance goal with the assist from Matt Crawford to wrap up the scoring at the 63:48 mark.
North Carolina's Michael Ueltschey picked up the shutout as he recorded five saves. Pack keeper Mitchell Watson finished the game with 10 saves.
