1987 ACC Title Game on ESPN Classic this Weekend

Relive one of NC State's greatest college basketball victories this Sunday, October 17 when ESPN Classic replays the telecast of the 1987 ACC Championship game. The condensed telecast will run from 6-7 p.m.

The '87 title tilt pitted Jim Valvano's underdog Wolfpack against a talented North Carolina team that was ranked #2 in the nation. The Heels' star studded line-up featured point guard Kenny Smith, Jeff Lebo and freshman phenom J.R. Reid.

But thanks to players like Vinny Del Negro and Chucky Brown, NC State was determined to pull off yet another tournament miracle.

Also on Sunday, ESPN Classic will feature the 1982 ACC Championship game between North Carolina and Virginia's top ranked Cavaliers. The replay of that classic match-up will start at 3 p.m.

Then at 4:30, Georgia Tech squares off against Duke in the 1986 ACC Title game.
