Evans Named Preseason All-ACC

GREENSBORO, N.C. – For the second-straight season, Melissa Evans has been tabbed as a Preseason All-ACC selection, as announced Friday afternoon by the league office. She is one of 18 players to make up the 2019 list, as voted on by the conference's head coaches.
Last season, Evans, who was a 2018 All-ACC selection, was second for the Wolfpack with 349 kills and 18 service aces. She recorded double-digit kills in 20 matches, including a career-high 20 against VCU, and five double-doubles in her sophomore campaign.
The Lone Tree, Colo. native was a standout for the Wolfpack her freshman season in 2017 appearing in 20 matches before being named to the ACC's All-Freshman team.
Additionally, the conference released the Preseason Coaches Poll where NC State was picked to finish ninth as a team. The Wolfpack have finished at or better than their preseason ranking in all three seasons under the guidance of head coach Linda Hampton-Keith.
The Wolfpack opens its 2019 campaign at home, Aug. 30, with a pair of matches against Austin Peay and Kansas State. First serve against Austin Peay is set for 1 p.m. before a 7 p.m. meeting against the Wildcats.
Single-match tickets are ON SALE NOW at the price of $7 for adults, $5 for youth (17 and younger) with group rates available. Children age two or younger are free admission.
