Clyburn Selected To Represent Team GB&I In 2018 Curtis Cup

ST. ANDREWS, Scotland - India Clyburn of the NC State women's golf team has been selected to represent Team Great Britain and Ireland in the 40th Curtis Cup match this summer. She is one of eight players that will make up the team, as it will face the United States June 8-10 at Quaker Ridge Golf Club in Scarsdale, N.Y.
Clyburn has been identified as one of the top amateur players in England, as the Curtis Cup is considered the highest honor in women's amateur golf.
"I feel so honored to have been picked to represent Great Britain and Ireland," said Clyburn. "It's the pinnacle of amateur golf and I'm so excited to get out to New York and compete! It's a dream come true!"
This is a unique opportunity for the Clyburn family, as her sister, Holly, played in the match in 2010 and '12.
Last summer the Cleethorpes, England, native was selected for the Vagliano Trophy, which is also considered high honor in amateur golf. The Vagliano Trophy is played every odd-numbered year between the Curtis Cup, which is played every even-numbered year.
