Hidlay and Reenan to Wrestle at U.S. Open

RALEIGH, N.C. – A pair of current Wolfpack wrestlers, and a handful of alums, will head to Las Vegas this weekend for the 2018 U.S. Open.

Wrestling freestyle this weekend, Hayden Hidlay will compete at 70 kg while Nick Reenan will be at 86 kg.

Last year, both Hidlay and Reenan took part at the U.S. Open in the U.S. UWW Junior Freestyle World Team Trials. Reenan brought home a second place finish at 84 kg, while Hidlay was fourth at 74 kg.

Hidlay was a NCAA Finalist and earned All-American honors at 157 pounds in his first season in the Wolfpack's lineup. He went 26-1 on the season and was the 2018 ACC Champion. Reenan redshirted this past season, after he was an NCAA Qualifier as a true freshman in 2017. He moved up to 184 pounds, and went 21-4 in six open tournaments.

In addition to those current members of the Pack, a handful of NC State alums will also be in action. Quinton Godley (74 kg), Lee Davis (79 kg) and Mike Kosoy (125 kg) all currently train at the Wolfpack's RTC. Former Wolfpack All-American, and current assistant coach at Lehigh, Darius Little will see action at 61 kg.

The action takes place April 27-28.
