Softball To Host Duke Wednesday In Non-Conference Meeting

RALEIGH – The NC State softball team will host Duke Wednesday in a non-conference midweek contest. This will be the first meeting in program history between the teams in the NCAA season, as this is the Blue Devils' inaugural season.
The game will be the last home midweek contest of the season for the Wolfpack. First pitch is 5 p.m. at Dail Stadium and the game will be streamed on the ACC Network Extra. The Pack enters the match up with a 22-21 season record and the Blue Devils are 23-22.
Last Time Out
NC State faced UNC-Chapel Hill for an ACC series in its last time out. On Friday the Pack fell 6-0 but bounced back to even the series on Saturday with a 10-1 (6) run-rule win. On Monday the Heels took the series with an 8-0 (6) win.
On Saturday the squad tallied a season-high 17 hits, marking the most ever in a single game against UNC-CH and second-most in program history.
Last Meeting
The teams met in the fall when the Pack traveled to Durham, N.C., for its opener and won 8-3 in the 10-inning contest.

NC State is 5-2 in midweek contests this season and is undefeated at home in its midweek games. The Pack is also 5-2 this season against in-state opponents.
