LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The 23rd ranked NC State men's tennis team picked up its seventh road win of the season with a 4-2 victory over No. 39 Louisville Sunday afternoon at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
With the victory, NC State improves to 16-6 (6-5 ACC), and the Cardinals fall to 15-9 (5-6 ACC).
"That was a great team win," said head coach Kyle Spencer. "The guys came out in doubles ready to go and played a good point, which I was excited about. I'm happy for Ivan (Saveljic). He beat a guy who he's lost to the last two times, so that was important. Tadas (Babelis) had the finisher, but there were so many exciting performances. I'm excited to see where the team is. It was a tough environment having to play indoors and on the road, and I thought the guys handled it so well."
NC State took the doubles point for the sixth time in the last seven matches. No. 69 Alexis Galarneau and Michael Ogden picked up the first win of the day for the Wolfpack. Facing Cardinals duo Federico Gomez and Brandon Lancaster on court two, the pair won 6-4.

Tadas Babelis and Georgiy Malyshev jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead on court three. The Wolfpack duo weathered a late surge from Louisville's George Hedley and Fredrik Moe, breaking the Cardinals in the final game to win 6-4.
Igor Saveljic and Ivan Saveljic were knotted a five apiece with 14th-ranked Christopher Morin-Kougoucheff and Parker Wynn when the doubles point was clinched.
Ivan tallied an impressive singles win to extend NC State's lead to 2-0. The Wolfpack junior matched up against Louisville's Lancaster, whom he has faced in each of NC State's last three dual matches against the Cardinals. Ivan powered his way to the victory, taking down Lancaster by a 6-4, 6-2 score.
On court one, 63rd-ranked Morin-Kougoucheff edged 37th-ranked Galarneau 7-6 (7-4), 6-1 to put the Cardinals on the board.
Moments later, Robert Turzak added a victory for NC State. The Wolfpack freshman earned a convincing 6-2, 6-2 win over Clement Filho to put the Pack within a match of the clinch.
"Cris James did a great job with Turzak, getting him ready for this match," said Spencer. "That proved to be an extremely positive result for Robert today."
Nicolas Rouanet brought the Cardinals within one as he defeated Malyshev 6-4, 6-4 on court five.
The final two matches went into third sets, with No. 121 Igor, playing on court two, and Babelis, playing on court three, each in good position to clinch for the Wolfpack.
It was Babelis who, for NC State's second win in a row, secured the match for the Pack in a three-setter. He broke Gomez's serve to complete a 6-3, 4-6, 7-5 win on court three.
