How It Happened
-Georgia Tech took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on a two-out RBI single to right field after a pair of walks started the inning.
-The Jackets threatened in the second as a single to right field and walk started the side, but Timberlyn Shurbutt caught a popped-up bunt and fired to Chandley Garner at first for the team's ninth double play of the season. A pop up caught behind home plate in the next at-bat ended the side.
-In the third inning Tech extended its lead to two with a solo homer to center field.
-Georgia Tech plated its third run of the game in the fourth inning. Rebecca Prairie reached on a fielder's choice and Malea Bell's double to right center brought her home from first.
-A solo home run in the fifth inning added another run to the board for the Jackets.
-In the sixth a bases-loaded RBI single through the left side tacked on Georgia Tech's fifth run. After a strikeout started the side a pair of outfield singles put two on for the Jackets, then a fielder's choice and walk loaded the bases.
