From the Coach
"Coming off the matches on Thursday I think our instinct as a team is that we are eager to immediately get back to competition and to improve," said head coach Simon Earnshaw. "Our ACC opener against Duke offers us that opportunity. The ACC schedule is once again going to be a question of running the gauntlet against a ledger of the top teams in College Tennis, that's something our non -conference schedule has certainly prepared us for. With conference teams knowing each other well, that level of familiarity raises the level of competition, you have to expect every match to be a battle and to have that little extra edge to it, which is exactly why we play and what's makes this conference what it is. This season one thing our team isn't lacking is experience, we understand the expectations and level necessary to do well in the ACC, that's a factor we need to start using to our advantage and being more consistent about applying. With the early season matches behind us and a home opener to conference play tomorrow is as good a day as any to make that count. Go Pack!"
Pack in the Polls
Claudia Wiktorin & Anna Rogers landed at #7 in the latest Oracle/ITA doubles poll, tying the highest doubles ranking in program history. Their ranking tied the #7 ranking achieved by Sanna Bhambri & Sandya Nagharaj in 2011.
Last time out for the Wolfpack
On Feb. 15 NC State hosted Tennessee and ECU; the Wolfpack fell 4-3 to the Volunteers but bounced back to earn a 5-2 win over the Pirates. Against ECU, Rogers earned a ranked singles win as she defeated #53 Celia Ruiz 3-6, 6-0, 1-0 (10-8).
