
No. 21 Gymnastics Posts Scores Among Best in EAGL, South East Region

RALEIGH, N.C. – The No. 21 NC State gymnastics team not only defeated Northern Illinois & Illinois-Chicago Sunday but also posted several event and individual totals that were among the best in the EAGL and the South East Region.

Team Scores
The Wolfpack's total of 194.025 was the second highest score posted in the EAGL, narrowly trailing No. 19 New Hampshire who scored 194.175. In the South East Region, it posted the fourth highest all-around score. The Wolfpack's mark of 194.025 also saw it ranked No. 21 on the Road To Nationals poll.
Event Scores
Floor and vault proved to be strong points for NC State; it's mark of 48.800 on floor was the second highest in the EAGL behind No. 7 George Washington, who posted a 49.075. On vault, the Wolfpack's 48.600 trailed only George Washington's 48.750 to be the second best in the conference.
In the South East Region, NC State's floor total was the second highest behind George Washington while its vault total was fourth-highest.
Individual Scores
Chelsea Knight came close to posting the best all-around score in the EAGL as her 39.075 was only topped by Camille Drouin-Allaire of George Washington who tabbed a mark of 39.100 to tie for second highest. Her 9.800 on floor was also tied for second-highest in the conference while Knight's 9.800 vault score was also third highest in the EAGL. Knight's 9.800 on beam was also the fourth-highest mark posted in the EAGL. Her all-around, floor and vault scores were also all tied for the fourth-best mark in the South East Region.
Alexa Phillips was also among the top floor performers as her 9.775 has her tied for third in the EAGL while Mackenzie Itcush and Drew Grantham's 9.750 have them tied for fourth, showing NC State's depth in the event.
The Wolfpack also had Maggie Tamburro and Lauren Kent tie for the third highest bars total in the EAGL as they both scored 9.775.
