RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State baseball team garnered its third preseason top-25 ranking Thursday afternoon, as the Wolfpack was tabbed No. 25 in the Preseason USA Today Coaches Poll.

The Wolfpack has been listed among the preseason top 25 or the final top 25 of a major poll in each of the past 16 seasons. Last season, the Pack also started the season ranked among the top 25 in the listing as NC State checked in at No. 14 in 2017's preseason poll.

NCSU was one of seven programs from the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) to appear in the rankings.

The Wolfpack opens the 2018 season at home on Feb. 16 against Seton Hall with first pitch slated for 3 p.m. For the second consecutive season, the Wolfpack will kick off the year with the #Pack9 Party, which will take place on Jan. 18 at 6 p.m. inside the Close-King Indoor Practice Facility.

NC State will hold three open scrimmages at Doak Field at Dail Park in conjunction with the start of official practices. Friday the Pack will scrimmage at 4 p.m., while Saturday's will start at 1:30 p.m. and Sunday's scrimmage is slated for 11:30 a.m.
