
Yurtseven Named Co-ACC Player of the Week

NC State sophomore shares honor with Duke's Gary Trent, Jr.
RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State men's basketball sophomore Omer Yurtseven was named Co-Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week Monday afternoon by the conference office.
Yurtseven is sharing the honor with Duke freshman guard Gary Trent, Jr.
Yurtseven averaged 25 points on 65.7 percent shooting last week, while also pulling down an average of seven rebounds per game and swatting away 1.5 blocks per game.
Yurtseven opened the week with 22 points on 9-of-16 shooting in the Pack's 72-63 win over Wake Forest. The Istanbul, Turkey native scored 13 of his game-high 22 points in the second half as NC State outscored the Demon Deacons 39-25 in the final 20 minutes, overcoming a five-point halftime deficit to win.
On Sunday afternoon, Yurtseven scored a game-high 28 points, one shy of his career-high, in the Pack's 86-81 loss to 25th-ranked Miami. Yurtseven connected on 12-of-16 field goal attempts in the game and added six rebounds and two blocked shots.
Yurtseven is leading NC State in numerous categories in ACC play. He ranks first on the team in ACC play in points (16.7), rebounds (6.7), field goal percentage (56.5%) and blocked shots (2.29).
NC State (13-7, 3-4) returns to action Wednesday when it plays at Pittsburgh. The game is scheduled for a 9 p.m. tip and will be televised on Regional Sports Networks.
