OAK BROOK, Ill. – Recent NC State women's basketball signee Elissa Cunane has been named among the 700 top male and female basketball players from across the country who will receive consideration for final selection to play in the annual McDonald's All-American Games on March 28 at Philips Arena in Atlanta.
Cunane is one of just ten female basketball players in the state of North Carolina to make the list. This news comes just a few months after she was also named to the Naismith Girls' High School Watch List, as announced by the Citizen Naismith Trophy organization in November.
The 17th annual McDonald's All-American Girls Game will tip off at 5 p.m. ET on Wednesday, March 28 on ESPN2. The final roster of 24 players will be unveiled on Tuesday, Jan. 16 via @McDAAG on twitter.
Elissa Cunane | 6-5 Post | Summerfield, N.C. | Northern Guilford High School
Sitting No. 21 nationally in the class of 2018 Prospects Nation rankings and fifth at her position, Elissa Cunane joins the Wolfpack as a four-star post player with a scout's grade of 95. A native of Summerfield, N.C., Cunane attends Northern Guilford High School where she was named the 2016 HSXtra Girls Basketball Player of the Year.
During her most recent junior season, Cunane averaged 20.3 points, 12.7 rebounds, 3.2 blocks, 2.7 assists, and 2.2 steals per game for a Northern Guilford Nighthawks team that posted an incredible 31-1 record en route to winning the North Carolina 3A Championship 66-64 over Hickory Ridge on March 11 in Chapel Hill.
Cunane and fellow signee Jada Rice comprise the No. 15 signing class in the nation, according to the latest Prospects Nation rankings.
