CARY, N.C. – NC State sophomore Beth Taye took home the Adidas XC Challenge individual crown Friday night at the WakeMed Soccer Park, finishing first overall with a mark of 17:00.0 in the women's 5K. Junior Elijah Moskowitz was the Pack's highest finisher on the men's side as he placed fourth individually in the 6K at 18:17.5.

Women's Race Recap:
Elly Henes (17:00.8) and Dominique Clairmonte (17:02.2) crossed the line almost immediately after Taye as NC State went 1-2-3 in the White 5K event. Alyssa Rudawsky (6th, 17:19.4), Ryen Frazier (9th, 17:26.6) and Bianca Bishop (10th, 17:31.7) came in next for NC State as six athletes in uniform placed inside the top-10.
The Pack women took home the team title with twelve head-to-head victories in the meet's double-dual scoring format. If the meet had been scored as an invitational, NC State would have also won in a landslide with 20 points from its top-five runners.

Pack Totals Nine PR's:
Although a 6K is not the most common distance for a men's cross country race, it's worth noting that six Wolfpack men posted college-best times at the Adidas XC Challenge. Hall's mark of 18:13.9 was a personal-best by more than seven seconds. Moskowitz notched his 6K PR by a mere hundredth of a second at 18:17.5. Edwin Rutto (18:30.4), Joe Bistritz (18:36.5), Alec Thomas (18:39.4) and Tim Bason (18:41.8) each clocked their fastest collegiate 6K's as well.
On the women's side, Taye (17:00.0), Henes (17:00.8) and Bethany Neeley (17:56.6) turned in college-best 5K performances for the Wolfpack.
Wolfpack debuts (in-uniform):
Redshirt-freshmen Rutto (11th), Bistritz (17th) and Bason (20th) each earned top-20 finishes in their in-uniform debuts for the Pack after competing unattached all of last season.
For the women, Clairmonte showed out in her first collegiate cross country race with a third-place finish. Redshirt-seniors Neeley (21st) and Tiana Patillo (106th) also suited up for the Wolfpack for the first time.
Freshman debuts (unattached):
NC State freshmen Shanklin and Noah Graham made their collegiate debuts as they raced unattached at the meet. Shanklin, a 5K All-American in high school, crossed the line 7th in his first race as a collegian. Graham finished 53rd in the men's 6K with a 19:53.7 performance.
On the women's side, Julia Zachgo, Isabel Zimmermann and Janay Hall ran their first collegiate 5K. Zachgo earned a top-10 finish as she placed eighth individually with a time of 17:25.4. Zimmermann came in 17th with mark of 17:53.8, while Hall placed 56th in 19:07.3.
