
Women’s Soccer Hosts Princeton Friday, Travels To Elon Sunday

RALEIGH – With a hot start to the 2017 campaign, the No. 20/25 NC State women's soccer team (3-0-0) will continue its nonconference slate this weekend when it hosts Princeton (2-0-0) Friday and travels to Elon (3-1-1) Sunday.
Kickoff for Friday is 8 p.m. at Dail Soccer Stadium and will be broadcast on the ACC Network Extra. Sunday's matchup up is slated for a 7 p.m. start at Rudd Field with live stream available.

-Free parking will be available in the Coliseum Deck after 3 p.m.
-Fans are not allowed to bring umbrellas inside Dail Soccer Stadium.

SERIES HISTORY
NC State and Princeton have only met once in program history. The squads played on Nov. 4, 2014, at Roberts Stadium and the Tigers came away with a 5-3 victory.
Sunday will mark the 14th time the Pack and Phoenix have met, as NC State leads 13-0 in the all-time series. The squads last met on Aug. 27, 2015, at Dail Stadium and the Pack earned a 2-0 win.
LAST TIME OUT
NC State hosted Coastal Carolina on Aug. 24 at Dail Soccer Stadium and shut out the Chanticleers 3-0. Ricci Walkling, Kia Rankin and Tziarra King all contributed goals in the win, as King, Hannah Keogh and Naomi Powell recorded assists.
OFF TO A HOT START
The Wolfpack is off to a hot start in the 2017 season with three straight wins. This marks the best start since 2013 when the Pack started the year 4-0-0.
NATIONAL RANKINGS
NC State moved up in this week's national rankings, jumping five spots to No. 20 on this week's United Soccer Coaches Poll and breaking into Soccer America's at No. 25.
NC State additionally ranks tied for third in the ACC, as three other teams in the league are undefeated through two weeks of competition.
CONTROLLING POSSESSION
NC State has controlled possession for the majority of its first three contests. The Pack is outshooting its opponents 41-15 and has only allowed one goal through two weeks of competition. The squad also ranks third in goals per game (2.67) and fourth in assists per game (2.33) among the ACC.
SCOUTING PRINCETON
The Tigers opened its season last weekend with wins over Monmouth (3-0) and Villanova (2-0). Abby Givens leads the team with three goals and six points while Natalie Larkin and Mimi Asom have each scored this season.
SCOUTING ELON
The Phoenix are coming off of a 2-1 loss at UNC Greensboro, but started its season with wins at East Carolina, North Florida and Jacksonville. Elon will host Western Carolina Thursday evening before its matchup with the Pack Sunday.
Meredith Christopher paces her squad with four goals and 10 points while Susannah Anderson holds three goals with seven points this season.
