"The devil whispered in the warriors' ear, 'You're not strong enough to withstand the storm.' The warrior whispered back, "I am the storm."'
Those words that head coach Dave Doeren said to his team today resonated in a big way. Following a mandatory day off on Wednesday, and indoor workouts on Monday and Tuesday, the Wolfpack was yearning for the opportunity to get back outdoors, and this morning delivered in a big day.  There was not a cloud in the sky throughout the two-hour session and the linebacking corps took advantage of the opportunity to get better.
"At the end of the day, you can control what goes on," said senior Airius Moore about his head coach's words. "There are a lot of things going on in your head. You do feel sore, you do feel tired but if you want to be great, you've got to push through. If we want as good as we say we want to be, we can't have bad days. You've got to be able to work when you're tired. That's the difference between a good team and a great team, working when you're tired or how when things aren't what you want them to be"

A new member of the Pack also taken the words to heart.Â
"You attack practice that day, don't let practice attack you," Raven Saunders proclaimed. "You control practice, you control the storm, you are the storm. That's how I look at it."

Practicing alongside a player like Moore has been invaluable to Saunders.
"Almost everything I've learned since I've been here has been from Airius," he said. "That includes things like working on my pass rush after practice, teaching me how to use my hands to get off the blocks. Basically everything I've learned."
Working after practice has been a staple for the linebackers, as it has been for many other position groups. With more and more 11-on-11 situations being worked into the sessions, working on fundamentals and the concept of winning the day has absolutely not been lost on the Wolfpack.

"It's looking good, everybody's coming along, everybody's working really hard" said Moore. "Everybody's pushing each other, and everybody's helping each other out while we're out there. A lot of us are staying after practice to work on different techniques and things like that. We've got to continue to keep it up and continue to trust the process and let the results take care of themselves."
