With the start of the 2017 NC State Volleyball season rapidly approaching, GoPack.com will be catching up with each member of the team to see how she is spending her summer and how excited she is to start the season. Periodically a Q and A will be posted to the website titled 'Serve and Pass', giving fans an inside look at each player on the squad.

How has your summer been going?
"My summer has been going great. I'm taking three pretty challenging classes, but it's been really fun and I'm excited for the fall."
Have you taken any vacations or do you have any planned?
"I went home for a few weeks to visit my family and that was really fun. We went to the Columbus Zoo and that has been the highlight of my summer, spending time there with my family seeing the animals."
Where would you go on a dream vacation?
"Anywhere overseas to see a new part of the world would be great."
How excited are you to start the season?
"Word cannot describe how excited I am to start the season. It's a new year with a new group and we have a great group of girls. We have a ton of talent and potential with this year's team."
How excited are you to have your younger sister (Kristen) on the team this year?
"I'm really thankful that she's here and we get to play together. It's something that we've always dreamed about. We played together in high school, but college was up in the air until things fell into place and I'm so happy she's here. We both push each other and it's great to have someone there that you're so comfortable with."
How does it feel to be a senior on the team?
"It's a great feeling. This year is going to be special for our team and I'm really excited."
What are your goals for the team and individually this season?
"As a team, I think we can make the NCAA Tournament and make a deep run. Individually, I would like to improve on my six-rotation play."
Was there anything in particular that you wanted to work on this summer for the season?
"I've been in the gym a lot with our strength and conditioning coach (Gabe Button) to get stronger."
What do you want to do after graduation? When are you graduating?
"I plan to graduate next summer and after graduation, I plan to take the MCAT and hopefully have a medical research position while preparing for the test. I'm not really sure which area I want to go into yet, but I think I either want to go into pediatric or geriatric care."
