GREENSBORO, N.C. – Eight student-athletes from the NC State track and field team earned spots on the 2017 All-ACC Academic Outdoor Track and Field Teams, the league office announced on Wednesday.
Joshua Davis (Sr., Business Administration), Christopher Garrick (Jr., Business Administration), Aubrey Myjer (Gr., Textile Management) and Aaron Thomas (Sr., Industrial Enginnering) represent the men's team, while Elly Henes (Fr., Psychology), Erika Kemp (Sr., Psychology), Rachel Koon (Jr., Environmental Science) and Megan Moye (Gr., Communications) made the women's team.
It is the second career honor for Davis, Kemp and Moye.
Seven of the eight athletes earned All-ACC recognition and advanced to the NCAA East Preliminary Meet with Kemp and Moye earning bids to compete in the NCAA Championships. Kemp closed the season by earning second-team All-America honors in the 5000 meters.
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.
