CEDAR CITY, Utah, - The NC State gymnastics team scored a 191.625 inside the Centrum Arena Friday night in a dual meet against No. 21 Southern Utah. The Pack closed the meet on a strong note, setting its best score of the season on beam – the final rotation – with a 48.800.

The Pack was once again without the services of several key gymnasts who missed the meet due to injury.

The Pack scored a 47.775 on vault. Chelsea Knight led the way with a 9.800 to finish fourth in the overall competition. Amanda Fillard added a 9.700 for the second highest score in the rotation for the Pack.

NC State opened the meet on bars with a team score of 47.375. Knight led the Pack with a score of 9.825 and finished tied for fifth overall. Fillard added a 9.775 and Hannah Sobhan scored a 9.675.

Beam:
NC State closed the meet with its best team score of season, finishing the rotation with a 48.800. All five scorers went 9.7 and above. Drew Grantham led the way with a 9.825 to finish fifth overall. Fillard added a 9.775 and Alexis Beucler scored a 9.750. Knight and Alexa Phillips rounded out the scoring with scores of 9.725.

NC State recorded a 47.675 on floor. Phillips led the way with a 9.825, marking the second straight meet the sophomore has recorded a 9.825. Grantham scored a 9.800 and Knight added a 9.725. Beucler recorded a 9.675.

The Pack took the top two spots on the podium in the all-around competition. Knight won with a score of 39.075 and Grantham added a 38.150 to take second overall.
