Benjamin Shipp and Stephen Franken finish in top five of tournament field

STATESBORO, Ga. – Led by top-five finishes from freshman Benjamin Shipp (4th) and sophomore Stephen Franken (T5th), the NC State men's golf team finished fourth among a competitive field of 14 teams at the 2017 Schenkel Invitational.
The Wolfpack shot a 295 (+7) during Sunday's final round at Forest Heights Country Club, finishing the tournament with a total team score of 859 (-5). No. 5 Florida earned top honors at the tournament (846, -18), while tournament host Georgia Southern (848, -16) and No. 2 Vanderbilt (849, -15) finished second and third.
Shipp's fourth-place finish marks the best result of his impressive young career and is the third time in six collegiate tournaments that he has finished within the top 10 of a tournament field. Franken earned the fifth top-10 result of his career in just his 18th collegiate tournament.
