
Wolfpack Closes Carolina Relays with Five Event Titles

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The NC State track and field team wrapped up the Carolina Relays with another strong performance, as members of the squad won five events on the final day of the weekend competition.
NC State's field athletes led the way with three event wins. Lauren Evans posted a big personal best in the hammer throw to win the event with a mark of 179'11.00", finishing a foot farther than her closest competitor.
In the men's competition, Joshua Davis started his outdoor season with a second-place finish in the men's hammer throw. Davis recorded a throw of 197'4.00", which was almost 18' further than the third-place finisher.
In the triple jump, Javonne Antoine and Amara Bell swept the top two spots. Antoine won with a jump of 41'2.50, which marked an outdoor personal best. Bell took second with a personal best of 40'3.50". Kimani "KC" Hoffman won the men's competition with a leap of 48'1.25".
On the track, the women's 4x400 team rolled to an early-season victory. Imari McLean, Dejah Arold, Tiana Patillo and Lauren White won in 3:53.46. The men's team of Junpai Dowdy, Sam Krehnbrink, Cravont Charleston and Cameron Cooper finished second with a time of 3:14.30.
Abdur Rahmaan Kelly added an event win in the 800m dash with a time of 1:55.40, and Megan Rempel finished third in the women's race with a time of 2:16.07.
