SALT LAKE CITY—The No. 35 NC State women's tennis team defeated Utah at the George S. Eccles Tennis Center on Monday night with a final score of 4-3. The dual marked the first time the two teams have faced each other.
The win was the Wolfpack's 10th this season, giving the team an overall record of 10-6. The loss moves the Utes to a 4-3 season record.

Match Recap
NC State earned the doubles point with wins on courts one and two. No. 30 Martina Frantova and Anna Rogers earned their 10th win of the season, taking down the Utes' Margo Pletcher and Brianna Turley with a final score of 7-5. On court two, Bianca Moldovan and Claudia Wiktorin defeated Taylor Calton and Jena Cheng, 7-6. Utah won on court three, 6-3, as Alexia Petrovic and Luisa Gerstner Da Ro beat Tayla Stenta and Adriana Reami.
In singles play, Rogers earned her 10th win of the season with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Petrovic in No. 3 singles. Fellow freshman Reami found a win on court four, taking down Jena Cheng, 6-4, 7-6. No. 34 Frantova dropped her match at the top singles position to Utah's Pletcher, 6-3, 7-6.
Utah earned two points as sophomores Wiktorin and Rebol fell in No. 2 and 6 singles, respectively. Wiktorin lost her match to Turley, 7-6, 7-5, while Rebol fell to Whitney Turley, 7-5, 6-3. The Wolfpack's final win of the night was earned by Moldovan who defeated Calton, 7-6, 6-4.

The Wolfpack will travel to Charlottesville, Va., to face Virginia on Fri., March 17. The match is set to begin at 3:30 p.m.
