NC State Adds Sara Watson to 2017 Recruiting Class

RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State gymnastics team has added Sara Watson to its 2017 recruiting class, as announced by head coach Mark Stevenson. Waston is a level 10 gymnast and currently trains at Gymnastics and More in Little River, S.C.
"We're excited to have Sara join our team in the fall of 2017," said associate head coach Colleen Johnson. "She has a family connection with her mother and sister being part of NC State cheerleading, and she is loyal to the Red and White. She's a great young lady who has strong academics and leads her class. She's a hard worker and we look forward to her joining the program."
Watson most recently won all around, vault and beam titles at the 2016 South Carolina State Championship, while finishing third on bars and forth in floor. Her individual performance helped guide her club to a team championship at the meet.
In 2015, Watson won vault and bars titles at the North Carolina State Championships.
Watson is an excellent student and is currently at the top of her class at South Columbus High School.
Her mother, Marlette, is an NC State Cheerleading alumna and her sister, Olivia, is currently a junior on the NC State cheerleading squad.
