
Wolfpack Concludes Showing at Nike Invitational

DURHAM, N.C.--The NC State swimming program concluded day three of the Carolina College Nike Invitational on Sunday with three first-place finishes, two pool records and five NCAA 'B' cuts.
Backstroke
Parker Campbell started the night off for NC State, finishing in second place in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:45.73. In the morning, Campbell posted a 1:43.82, earning an NCAA 'B' cut.
Freestyle
In the women's 100 freestyle, Krista Duffield led the Wolfpack with a first place finish in 49.32 to meet the NCAA 'B' standard. Christine Kerr touched the wall in third place, recording a time of 50.60. Vasiliki Baka, Emmie Barnhill and Caroline Estep finished in sixth, seventh and eighth place, posting times of 51.27, 51.62 and 51.96, respectively.
Soeren Dahl won the men's 100 free, touching the wall in a NCAA 'B' cut time of 43.69. Tyler Rice (44.31) and Scott Johnson (44.33) followed, finishing in second and third place. Joe Bonk rounded out the Wolfpack showing in the 'A' final with a sixth place finish in 44.43.
A trio of Wolfpackers earned top-8 finishes in the men's 1650. Alex Hamilton led the group with a fourth place finish, touching the wall in 15:32.57. Mason Revis' time of 15:36.12 earned him a sixth place finish while Trey Poff went 15:41.09 to take eighth place.
Breaststroke
In the women's 200 breaststroke, Rozhina McClanahan finished in 2:17.05 to take second place. Olga Lapteva followed, taking third place in 2:17.41. In the preliminary session, Maddie Witzke posted a time of 2:24.22.
In the men's race, Quinlan Stuart finished fourth with a time of 2:01.37.
Butterfly
Andreas Vazaios earned the Wolfpack its third first-place finish, taking the 200 butterfly in 1:43.46 to break the pool record. His time marked the second-fastest 200 fly in program history. Lucca Martins finished in third place with a time of 1:47.43 while Revis finished sixth in 1:50.09. Both Vazaios' and Martins' performances met the NCAA 'B' standard.
Wolfpack Relays
NC State concluded the weekend with a pair of second place finishes in the 400 free relay. In the women's race, the team of Lapteva, Barnhill, Estep and Maddie Witzke finished with a time of 3:26.83 while Vazaios, Quinlan Stuart, Revis and Hamilton touched the wall in 3:01.60 in the men's relay. Vazaios' leadoff split of 43.51 broke the pool record in the 100 free.
