#18/19 Wolfpack Hosts Rival Tar Heels Thursday on Senior Night

RALEIGH – The No. 18/19 NC State women's basketball team (20-7, 10-4 ACC) hosts rival UNC-Chapel Hill Thursday evening in the final regular-season game of the 2016-17 campaign. The game will serve as NC State's senior night with a pregame ceremony honoring the careers of Jennifer Mathurin, Miah Spencer, Ashley Williams, and Dominique Wilson.

Thursday's game will be televised live on the ACC's Regional Sports Network package. A full list of stations can be found here. The contest will also be broadcast live on ACC Network Extra, but it will be subject to local blackouts.

LAST GAME
NC State endured a tough loss Sunday afternoon during its 12th annual Play4Kay game, falling 89-77 to visiting Wake Forest on Kay Yow Court inside Reynolds Coliseum.

Miah Spencer led all players in scoring with 24 points in front of a sellout crowd of 5,500, but the Demon Deacons shot 31-61 (.508) from the field and 8-13 (.615) from distance en route to earning the win.

$100,000 RAISED AT PLAY4KAY GAME
Sunday's game was the 12th installment of the national Play4Kay movement that began at NC State under legendary head coach Kay Yow. Throughout the 11 previous games in Raleigh, the NC State community, Wolfpack supporters, and cancer survivors have combined to raise approximately $500,000 in donations to this worthy cause. Sunday's grand total of donations included $33,805 from the NC State community and $70,000 from Bojangles, bringing the day's total over $100,000.

NOTING THE WOLFPACK
-NC State enters Thursday's game the owner of a 20-7 record, a 10-4 mark in ACC play, and the No. 18/19 national rankings.
-Twelve of NC State's 20 wins have been by at least 14 points.
-The Wolfpack has eight wins over teams in the RPI top 100.
-Starting senior guard Ashley Williams ranks 26th in the nation (1st in ACC) with a .415 shooting percentage from distance.

WHAT A CLASS
NC State's senior class has posted an impressive 83-41 record heading into Thursday's game against UNC-CH. With multiple games remaining on the schedule, the 2016-17 senior class has won the most games since the 2007-08 seniors finished their careers with an 86-43 mark.

Of 14 programs active in the ACC since the outset of the 2013-14 season, NC State's senior class has achieved a win-loss record that ranks fifth in the league. Only Notre Dame, Florida State, Duke, and Syracuse have been more successful.

In the 124 games played since the beginning of the 2013-14 season, the Wolfpack has scored 8,731 points. An astounding 4,258 (48.8 percent) of these points have come from the current senior class. On this year's team, NC State's seniors have accounted for 58.1 percent of the scoring.

HOME COURT ADVANTAGE
NC State's Feb. 12 win over Virginia Tech was the Wolfpack's 13th home win of the season. This marks just the eighth time in 43 seasons (second under HC Wes Moore) that NC State has won 13 or more games at home.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE ON THE ROAD
In 3.5 seasons under head coach Wes Moore, the Wolfpack has earned 24 true road wins (six per season). In the prior eight seasons from 2005-06 to 2012-13, the Wolfpack earned 32 true road wins (four per season).

TEN OR MORE? BEEN THERE BEFORE
The five players in NC State's normal starting lineup have individually scored 10+ points in an astounding 251 games. Miah Spencer leads all starters with 10+ points in 80 of her 124 career games.

WOLFPACK AGAINST RANKED OPPONENTS
NC State is currently 4-2 against ranked opponents this season, with all four wins coming over teams ranked within the top 15. The last time NC State won four games against top-15 foes was the 1997-98 season, when the team advanced to the Final Four.

JUST THE TWO OF US
NC State and No. 1/1 UConn have something in common this season: the Wolfpack and Huskies are the only teams to beat both Notre Dame and Florida State.

SHE'S THE ONLY ONE
Miah Spencer (1,507 points and 474 assists) is the first player in the 42.5 season history of the NC State women's basketball program to score 1,500 points and dish out 450 assists in a career. She currently ranks 17th in scoring and fourth in assists.

COACHES IN THE MAKING
On January 30, Spencer and Williams were chosen to participate in the 2017 WBCA "So You Want to be a Coach" seminar at the annual convention March 29-31 in Dallas. The Wolfpack duo was among just 61 student-athletes selected nationwide for the opportunity.

SCOUTING THE TAR HEELS
-UNC-Chapel Hill enters Thursday's game the owner of a 14-13 record (3-11 ACC).
-The Tar Heels have won seven games over teams in the RPI top 100.
