Katie Cox & Meredith Robinson sign NLIs
RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State gymnastics head Kim Landrus announced the signings of two gymnasts to National Letters of Intent on the first day of the fall signing period Wednesday. Katie Cox will join the program in January 2018 and will be eligible during the 2018 season while Meredith Robinson will arrive on campus in fall 2018.
"The addition of Katie and Meredith to our NC State family is extremely exciting," said head coach Kim Landrus. "Both are well-rounded student-athletes that will come in and have an immediate impact on our program. From the time I met them, their 'Pride for the Pack' was evident. You could tell they were 100% on board with the vision for the future. Both will be valuable additions and will 'raise the bar' with their passion and work ethic."

Why she chose NC State
"It has everything I am looking for in a college," said Cox. "NC State is one of the few gymnastics schools that offers my desired major of Marine Sciences. From the first moment I walked on campus it already felt like home. The beautiful scenery around campus and the welcoming nature of the people really drew me to NC State. The gymnastics team was incredibly friendly and I felt an immediate connection with everyone. I knew I wanted to be a part of the Wolfpack from the very start."
Coach Landrus' Thoughts
"Katie immediately stood out when I was hired as 'one that wanted to be part of the NC State family yesterday,'" she explained. "Every time I talked to her, she was eager to begin her journey at State. She has such a lovely look to her gymnastics and exemplifies the beauty of the sport. She realizes that good preparation is the key to any successful athlete. I can't wait to watch Katie flourish into a great college athlete as she should immediately contribute on all four events."

Why she chose NC State
"I chose NC State because I fell in love with the school and the gymnastics program. The first time I visited the school, I felt like it was a great fit and was meant to be. I was looking for a school with both a great gymnastics program and one with challenging academics, and I found that NC State was the perfect match. I cannot wait to be a part of the Wolfpack!"
Coach Landrus' Thoughts
"Meredith is such a genuine individual that places a great amount of importance in 'doing it right,'" said Landrus. "It doesn't matter if it is gymnastically, academically, or socially, she understands the concept that the little details are important in order to be great. She is a standout on bars, but her other events will definitely see action regularly on the competition floor. I believe Meredith will be a 'strive for perfection' NCAA gymnast. I'm excited to see her make her mark at State!"
