GREENSBORO, N.C. -- For the second time this season, the NC State cross country program has swept ACC Freshman of the Week awards, as announced by the conference office Wednesday morning. Dominique Clairmonte earned her third Women's Freshman of the Week honor, while Edwin Rutto was selected as the Men's Freshman of the Week for the first time of his career.

Clairmonte has been named ACC Freshman of the Week every time she has competed this season. She continued her breakout redshirt-freshman campaign at Wisconsin last week, crossing the line as the Pack's top finisher for the first time of her career. The Lexington, Ohio native placed 16th with a time of 20:13.4 in her collegiate 8K debut and led NC State to a third-place finish in a field that featured 16 nationally ranked teams.
Rutto notched his highest finish among NC State runners as he was the third Pack athlete to cross the finish line at Wisconsin. The redshirt-freshman from Newark, N.J. placed 102nd at the meet, clocking a personal-best 8K time of 24:47.0 as the Wolfpack upset eight nationally ranked teams.
NC State has now earned six weekly honors from the ACC this season. Two weeks ago, Elly Henes was named the ACC Women's Performer of the Week, while Clairmonte and Joe Bistritz claimed Freshman of the Week honors. Clairmonte also took home Freshman of the Week honors on Sept. 20.
Up next, NC State will begin postseason action as the Pack travels to Louisville, Ky. for the ACC Cross Country Championships. The meet is set for Friday, Oct. 27 and will begin with the men's 8K at 10:00 a.m.
