Finley Named Semifinalist for Unitas Award

Wolfpack quarterback Ryan Finley is one of 20 quarterbacks and the only ACC quarterback named semifinalists for the 2017 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award. The Golden Arm Award has been presented at the end of each season since 1987 to the nation's top college quarterback, based on his accomplishments both on and off the field.

Finley was named the ACC Offensive Back of the Week this week for his performance in the win over No. 17 Louisville and was named a Manning Star of the Week for that win and the win over Florida State. He currently boasts the nation's longest streak of consecutive pass attempts without an interception, as his last pick came against Miami on Nov. 19, 2016 - 288 attempts ago.

Finley also ranks second in the ACC and 8th in the FBS with a .709 completion mark for 2017. He now posts a .642 mark for his career at NC State - the best mark in school history. At the moment, he has surpassed Philip Rivers as the school record holder, as Rivers completed .636 of his throws from 2000-03.

In 2017, The Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award will be presented at a ceremony on Friday, December 8th, in Baltimore, MD.
