
Davis PRs, Pack Posts Solid Opening at Bob Pollock

CLEMSON, S.C. – For the second time this season, Joshua Davis shattered his weight throw school record to jump into the top-five standings of the NCAA. Along with Davis' big throw, several athletes posted personal bests and three athletes qualified for the ACC Championships.

Throws:
Joshua Davis improved on his season-best and school record by 1'1.75" to jump to fifth in the NCAA. Davis now has five top-five finishes on the year and has improved almost 4' from his first throw of the season.
Â
On the women's side Lauren Evans added her seventh top-five finish of the season, taking second with a throw of 59'9'.75". Evans is currently 50th in the NCAA and fourth in the ACC.

Sprints:
Cravont Charleston set a personal best for the second-time this season, sprinting to a time of 6.66 in the 60m finals to finish fourth overall. The time is a .02 improvement over his previous personal best and marks his second improvement in three meets this season. Charleston slides up one spot in the national rankings and sits in a tie for 13th place.

Nyheim Hines made his season-debut, running 6.80 in the preliminary and 6.78 in the final to finish sixth overall on his season debut. With the time, Hines qualifies for the ACC Championships and is now ranked fifth in the ACC.

On the women's side, both Gabriele Cunningham and Paisley Simmons set season-bests in two consecutive races. The duo finished with a time of 7.54 in the preliminary before Cunningham set a personal best of 7.47 in the final and Simmons ran a season-high 7.50.

Distance:
The Pack's distance group made a combined seven season debuts between both mile races. Sam Parsons led the men, setting a four-second PR of 4:07.53 to finish second overall and earn an ACC qualifying mark.

Three other Wolfpackers captured top-10 finishes, as Eli Moskowitz (4:09.08) took fifth, Tanis Baldwin (4:10.19) finished sixth and Sebastian Hanson (4:12.13) took ninth.

Megan Rempel led the Wolfpack women, finishing fourth overall in 4:50.39 to earn an ACC qualifying mark. Bethany Neeley added an eighth-place finish in 4:58.53 in her first action of the year.

Jumps:
Alexis Perry returned to action in the women's long jump for the first time this year. Perry competed unattached, jumping 19'8.00" for fourth place. Amara Bell added a 10th-place finish with a jump of 18'0.25".

On the men's side, Kimani "KC" Hoffman took 13th in his first long jump competition of the season, jumping 21'6.75".
