Wolfpack Moves up to #21 in USA Today Poll

RALEIGH – Following a week of 1-1 action in Atlantic Coast Conference play during which the Wolfpack (14-5, 4-2 ACC) narrowly fell on the road at No. 26/24 Syracuse and defeated No. 12/15 Duke, the NC State women's basketball team moved one spot from No. 22 to No. 21 in the January 17 USA Today poll. Â
Sunday's win over Duke was NC State's third over a team ranked within the national top 15 since ACC play began on Dec. 29. The Wolfpack remains one of just two teams in the nation (No. 1/1 UConn) to have beaten both Notre Dame and Florida State this season.
NC State is 5-5 against teams in the RPI top 100 this season and all five of the Wolfpack's losses are against teams in the RPI top 40.
The No. 21/21 Wolfpack is next in action at home on Sunday, Jan. 22 against Clemson. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. from Kay Yow Court inside Reynolds Coliseum. Â
