Wolfpack Dominates The Citadel in Doubleheader

The wins push NC State to 2-1, while The Citadel falls to 0-4 on the season. The Pack is now 8-0 all time against The Citadel and has won the last six matches by a combined score of 42-0.
"There's things we've been trying to get these guys to do for months -- specific technical and tactical things," said head coach Jon Choboy. We've played good tennis at times, but we weren't making good decisions or playing tactically sound."
"Today we made good tactical decisions. We easily could've had this match be much closer because they are fit and understand the concept of keeping the tennis ball on the court. You have to be able to execute and finish points. That's one thing we did today. I think we were sharper."
The Pack made quick work of the opening, match sweeping all three doubles matches 6-0. NC State then won each singles match in straight sets, only going to a tie-break on one court in one set.
The Wolfpack clinched the doubles point in the second match with wins on courts one and two, but fell at the court three in the lone loss of the day.
The team dominated the singles matches once again for six straight-set wins.
Debut Wins:
Chris Mikrovas earned two wins on his season debut, taking down opponents at the No. 5 and No. 6 singles spot. Georgiy Malyshev, Ivan Saveljic, Michael Ogden and Sean Burnette also picked up their first two victories of the season.
Undefeated:
Igor Saveljic powered past two Bulldog opponents to extend his record to a team-leading 3-0 on the season.
Up Next:
The Pack will be back in action Friday, as it welcomes Troy to J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center for a 3 p.m. match.
