NC State records season-high team score of 2315 in smallbore competition
WEST POINT, N.Y. – Despite setting a season high in the smallbore competition, No. 11 NC State rifle came up short against No. 8 Nebraska, 4678-4665, Sunday afternoon inside the Tronsrue Marksmanship Center.

The Wolfpack falls to 7-5 overall and 4-3 in the Great America Rifle Conference (GARC), while the Cornhuskers improve to 6-1 and 3-1 in league matches.

NC State's score of 2315 in the smallbore competition bests the team's previous season high of 2313 set yesterday in the program's win against No. 12 Army. The Pack also fired a team score of 2350 in the air rifle competition to compile an aggregate total of 4665, third best this season.

Unfortunately for the Wolfpack, Nebraska logged an aggregate score of 4678, it's highest of the season, after earning a 2310 in smallbore and a 2368 in the air rifle competition.

Miller's Minute
"Today was pretty good, but not quite as good as yesterday," said head coach Keith Miller. "We fired a 4665, which is our third-highest score of the year. It's comprised of our best smallbore of the season (2315), but also our lowest air rifle of the season (2350).
"Going into air rifle, we were ahead of Nebraska by five, but they fired a very strong team air rifle score of 2368, and thus ended up defeating us by 13. Their 4678 is the highest score of the year for them, so kudos to them for stepping up and posting several good air rifle scores. Another GARC win would have been nice, and was a major goal, but it was not to be."
