Wolfpack fires highest score in program history
WEST POINT, N.Y. – The 11th-ranked NC State rifle team made a #STATEment in its first action of 2017, as the Wolfpack defeated No. 12 Army Saturday afternoon inside the Tronsrue Marksmanship Center, 4673-4668.

NC State fired a season-high score of 2313 in the smallbore competition along with a 2360 in air rifle to compile its aggregate total of 4673, while Army recorded a 4668 thanks to a 2349 in air rifle and a 2319 in smallbore.

The Wolfpack improves to 7-4 overall and 4-2 in Great America Rifle Conference (GARC) action and the Black Knights fall to 3-5 and 1-4 in league matches.

Smallbore Notes
- Lauren Phillips led all shooters in the smallbore event with a score of 584, while Lucas Kozeniesky finished closely behind with a tally of 582.
- William Marciniak fired a 577 to finish seventh and Caitlyn Ford charted a 570 to also earn a spot among the top 10.
- Rounding out the counting lineup for the Pack was Derya Pekari with a clip of 567.
- Also taking part in the event were Claire Zanti (568), Zach Eisenberg (565), Claire Spina (558), George Williams (537) and Tyler Lefebvre (530).

- NC State's lineup combined to record a team score of 2360 in the air rifle competition.
- Kozeniesky headlined the group with a score of 595 with two perfect series of 100 on the third and fifth relays.
- Ford had the next-best total with a 592, highlighted by 100s on her third and sixth series.
- Wolfpack shooters claimed the top-three spots, as Phillips took third with a score of 591.
- Pekari fired a 582 and Marciniak notched a 575 to round out the lineup.
