
Gymnastics Splits Tri-Meet With Utah State, Bowling Green State

Pack posts nine top five finishes
LOGAN, Utah - In result of strong vault and bars team performances, the NC State gymnastics team wrapped up its second meet of the season on Friday evening with a final score of 193.900 to split its tri-meet at Utah State with Bowling Green State inside the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.
The Aggies finished with a 195.400 and the Falcons posted a 193.275. As a team the Pack recorded nine top five finishes along with five career-best event scores.Â

NC State started the meet on beam, posting a team score of 47.625. Drew Grantham turned in the top score of 9.850 to place second, and her performance marked a career best.Â
Amanda Fillard and Chelsea Knight additionally earned a tie for ninth as both charted a score of 9.725.
Floor
Paris Phillips led the way for the team on floor with a score of 9.800 to finish in a tie for second and help NC State notch a 48.525 on the rotation.
Knight had another solid performance in her all-around outing as she turned in a 9.750 to take sixth in the event standings, while Alexa Phillips earned a 9.725 to finish eighth.
Vault
On vault NC State had five post a score of 9.700 or better. Paris Phillips was the top performer again on the rotation, as she notched a 9.825 to tie for third place. Alexa Phillips finished right behind in fifth with a score of 9.800.
Amanda Fillard and Knight additionally posted scores of 9.750 and 9.725, in respective order, and Caitlyn Fillard rounded out the top five with a 9.700. As a team the Pack charted a score of 48.800.
Bars
The team ended on a high note, posting a season-best mark of 48.950 on bars. Amanda Fillard tied her career best with a 9.875 to win the event. Maggie Tamburro and Knight followed as both posted scores of 9.825 to tie for second place, and Tamburro charted a career best on the event.Â
Paris Phillips and Nicole Wild rounded out the top five performances on bars with scores of 9.725 and 9.700, in respective order, to garner top 10 finishes.Â
All-Around
Knight and Paris Phillips were the Pack's two all-arounders again in tonight's competition, as Knight won with a 39.025 and Phillips placed second as she finished with a 38.150.
